2/26 Update:  The skiing and sprint race for tomorrow are all a GO!  We should have over 10 km of trail groomed, all for skate, at least 5-6 K we will set classic tracks .

To ALL nordic coaches, athletes, and families:  In light of the many cancellations of races, and lack of skiing in many parts of the state, TITCOMB MTN. in Farmington IS OFFERING $5 ALL DAY PASSES ON SATURDAY, FEB. 27th.  This is for everyone, HS skiers prepping to qualify for the Maine Nordic Team, youngsters going out in a week to the Bill Koch Festival, and families, coaches, and friends.  Our snow is good enough, we feel confident that we can have the entire nordic trail system prepped and ready for a great day of skiing.

AS AN ADDED BONUS, WE WILL OFFER A KICK-IN SPRINT which will BEGIN AT NOON WITH A 1.2K QUALIFIER, FOLLOWED BY ROUNDS OF HEATS WHICH ARE SKIED BY EVERYONE (nobody gets "kicked out" of the rounds).  IN THIS FORMAT, THERE IS NO GENDER OR AGE SEPARATION IN THE HEATS -- YOU SKI AGAINST PEOPLE OF THE SAME RACE PACE.  AFTER THE ROUNDS, THE TOP TWO FINISHERS IN THE HEAT MOVE UP A BRACKET, BOTTOM TWO FINISHERS MOVE DOWN A BRACKET.  NO CLOCK AFTER THE QUALIFYING INTERVAL START.   The sprint will be freestyle, but the trail system will be groomed both skate and classic wherever possible.

Come get your pass before 11 a.m. if you want to also register for the KICK-IN SPRINTS, bib pickup until that time.  All those racing will wear the same bib through the rounds.  Rounds should be around an hour apart at most, with heats running about every 3 minutes.  After your heat finishes, you should be able to see what bracket and time your next sprint heat is.  THE SPRINTS ARE OPEN TO PARENTS, COACHES, CHILDREN OF ALL AGES!  Come one, come all!

We will update snow conditions late Thursday or Friday, after the next rain event.  But save the date, we're pretty sure.
