High School skiers from across the state will decend upon Rumford Saturday to compete in the premier secondary school nordic event of the season. For many of the skiers, it will be their first chance to compete on the newly improved trails at Black Mountain as they prepare for their league and state championships and vie for spots on the Maine J2 (U16) team. The J2 Girls race at 11:00am. The older women race at 11:45am. J2 boys start at 1:00pm and the older men start at 1:45pm. The Junior Sassi will also take place Saturday morning, beginning at 9:00am.
