Day 1 of the 2026 MPA Class A Nordic State Championships were held today at the Fort Kent Outdoor Center. It was the 5K individual classical race. In the girls race, Lucy Huggett of Freeport is the 2026 Class A Classical state champion. She had a winning time of 20:21.1. The Class A runner-up was Emma Price of Portland with a time of 20:42.6. In third place was Amelia Prince of Freeport with a time of 20:44.4. In the boys classical race, Jack Borland of Deering is the 2026 MPA Class A Classical state champion. He had a winning time of 16:46.5. The Class A runner-up was Clayton Hickey with a time of 17:02.7. In third place was Daire Woodruff of Brunswick with a time of 17:03.4 Day 2 of the MPA Class A Nordic state championships is on Tuesday with the 5K freestyle pursuit. The team scores will be based off of the pursit finish. RESULTS
