Freeport Girls and Yarmouth Boys win 2026 WMC Nordic
The 2026 WMC Nordic Championships concluded today with the 5K freestyle pursuit competition at Stark's Hill in Fryeburg. In the girls freestyle, Lucy Huggett of Freeport is the 2026 WMC Freestyle champion. Her winning time was 17:24.3 In second place was Rowan Barry of Greely with a time of 17:33.3. Rounding out the podium in third place was Evelyn LaCasse of Greely with a time of 17:33.4. In the boys freestyle, Xander Gordon of Yarmouth is the 2026 WMC Freestyle champion. His winning time was 14:39.6. In second place was Leif Hellstedt of Yarmouth with a time of 14:41.6. Rounding out the podium in third place was Eli Chalmers also of Yarmouth with a time of 14:41.9. Ida Waterman of GNG and Xander Gordon of Yarmouth are the 2026 WMC Nordic Pursuit champions. For the team title, the Freeport girls and the Yarmouth boys are the 2026 WMC Nordic team champions.
