The KVAC Nordic Championships kicked off today at Black Mtn with the 5K Freestyle mass start. In the girls race, Haley Marston of Leavitt is the 2026 KVAC Freestyle champion. Her winning time was 17:27.9. In second place was Amalie Van Der Meer of Waterville with a time of 17:45.8. In third place was Andrea Gunter of Waterville with a time of 17:53.0. In the boys race, Daire Woodruff of Brunswick is the 2026 KVAC Freestyle champion. His winning time was 13:35.9. In second place was Damon Rucci of Leavitt with a time of 14:10.6.
