If no check at that time they can wait until afterwards to take care of it. They need a separate check for each team they make, and one for a jacket.  The number of qualifiers will be posted at registration in the morning.

Athlete Warming Space: we will have the maintenance building available as an athlete warming area. It is set up with tables and chairs there for athletes who are trying to find a spot to get off of their feet, stay warm, and have a spot to relax between races. It is the green metal building just before you get to the welcome center.

Conditions Update:

The manmade loop at Quarry Road held up to this weather that we got yesterday remarkably well and is skiing great. We got mostly rain with a marginal amount of snow and ice mixed in and as our groomer was out this morning around 5:00am he saw a low temperature of about 28F. The course that will be used for both the classic and the skate races is attached here. It is the same course that we used for the Roy Varney Memorial Eastern Cup, as well as the Maranacook Wave Race. The map is labeled as a 2.5k loop, but it was recently measured with a GPS at 2.35km which both races will do 2 laps of to make for a 4.7k course with plenty of climbing for both races.

We will groom the course at 7pm tonight in a way that will allow us to set both the classic and the skate courses tonight with minimal to no regrooming during the middle of the day on Saturday. The left hand side of the trail will have 2 classic tracks and on the right hand side of the trail will have corduroy for a skate lane. Our trails are wide enough to accommodate this.  We will also set a right hand boundary beside the tracks for the classic race with a combination of pine boughs and v-boards that all racers must stay to the left of during the classic race. We will pull this boundary after the classic race is done and utilize the whole trail for the skate race with the exception of a few corners that will have v-boards on the inside to ski around. Our trails are wide enough to have a good sized skate lane beside the classic tracks, but racers are allowed to skate over the classic tracks on the left hand side of the trail in the skate race, however for the classic race, athletes must stay left of the right hand boundary.

Everyone at Quarry Road is looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow! If you have any questions regarding the course/venue please contact Justin Fereshetian @ This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or (207) 616-6186.
