Varney and Charles Win 2019 Sassi Memorial

The Sassi Memorial Classical, the largest high school ski race ,took place today at Black Mtn.  With great tracks and awesome snow conditions, more than 300 athletes participated in the meet.  Roy Varney of Leavitt won the 5K Classical with a winning time of  13:36.2.  Carter McPhedran of Maranacook was second with a time of 13:49.8.  Carter's teammate Gabe Fein took third with 13:54.8.  On the girls side, it was a close finish.  Emma Charles of Mt. Blue was the top girl with a winning time of 15:27.0.  Emily Gerencer of St. Doms was in a close second with a time of 15:30.3.  Lily Horne of Freeport grabbed the third spot with a time of 16:28.5.    COMPLETE RESULTS  |  DW ACTION PHOTOS GALLERY  |  RVG PHOTO GALLERY
