J2 Championships--March 7-9th:
Location:
Jackson NH/ Eagle mountain lodge
Time: March 7th-9th
The team will be staying at the Eagle mountain lodge which is located directly across from the starting line for the weekend races. The trip cost for this year will be $255.00 and will cover entry fees, food, and lodging. They may also purchase jackets for a fee of $100.00. Make checks payable to Maine Nordic Team. Because of the very high cost of transportation and the location of this years event there will be no transportation to and from the event. Once we are at jackson there will be transportation provided for the kids to and from awards ceremony.
The team will be named at the Sassi race. The top 20 girls and boys from the finish list will be chosen. They will be required to pay the total for the trip after the awards ceremony. Any racer who qualifies and does not pay will not be allowed on the trip. This means the Maine team coach needs checks at the Sassi. In addition 5 alternates will also be named and expected to pay at the Sassi for the trip. If they are not chosen to go their checks will be refunded and/or returned.
Skiers eligible for j2's are those who are 14-15 years old. This also means that skiers who are in middle school can also race. They can not however be coached/waxed by the high school coaches and they can not be included in the team score.
